The Eysenck Personality Inventory:

discover your temperament type online

The Eysenck test is one of the best-known personality questionnaires. It helps you identify your temperament type: sanguine, choleric, phlegmatic or melancholic.
Developed by psychologist Hans Eysenck, it measures two core personality traits: extraversion (how outward-facing you are) and neuroticism (how emotionally stable you are).
Your answers offer insight into your natural temperament, energy levels, emotional balance and how you respond to stress.

Why take the test?

  • To better understand your strengths and how you tend to behave.
  • To discover what conditions help you work, rest and recharge.
  • To find the communication style and kind of work that suit you, from teamwork to choosing a career.
  • To get along better with people whose temperament differs from yours.

Eysenck’s four temperament types

Sanguine:
Outgoing, energetic and quick to adapt to change. Easily excited by new ideas, loves being active and meeting new people. Emotions run high but pass quickly.

Choleric:
Decisive, driven, strong-willed and impulsive. Quick to act — and quick to burn out. With high neuroticism, can be hot-tempered, yet also an inspiring leader.

Phlegmatic:
Calm, reliable and steady. Prefers order, consistency and predictability. Works at an even pace and rarely loses their temper.

Melancholic:
Deep, sensitive and reflective. Feels things strongly but has a rich inner world. Needs stability and support.

⚠️ Disclaimer

The Eysenck test is not a diagnosis and is no substitute for a consultation with a psychologist.
It reflects general temperament traits rather than your personality as a whole.
Your results may be influenced by mood, tiredness and social desirability (the urge to present yourself in a better light).
